Payment Plan Arrangements

If you are having difficulty paying, or need more time, contact Council as soon as possible to request a variation to payment arrangements.

Receipts

Receipts can be issued on request.

To make a payment from your cheque, savings, debit, credit card or transaction account from your Bank.

The BPAY Biller Code and Customer Reference Number can be found on your rates or infringement notice.

  • Log on to your bank's online banking
  • Choose the BPAY payment option in Bill Payment
  • Enter the BPAY Biller code, Customer Reference Number (CRN), amount and date from your bill
  • Click Pay

We can accept your credit card payments over the phone during business hours.

Give us a call on 03 6430 5700, please have your invoice, infringement or rates notice with you to quote the reference number.

The Council Offices are open for payments between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday at 80 Wilson St, Burnie.

Payment methods accepted include cash, cheque or credit card. 

EFTPOS is available, daily limits may apply. 

BPoint secure online credit card payments

BPoint phone payments

Call 1300 886 451 and follow the prompts. Mastercard and Visa accepted.   

Biller Code and Customer Reference Number can be found on the front page of your rates notice.

Cheques are to be made payable to Burnie City Council.

To pay your rates bill through Australia Post you may visit a Post Office, phone 13 18 16, or go to www.postbillpay.com.au

Please bring your original rate notice with you.

To use Centrepay to arrange regular deductions from your Centrelink payment, simply call Centrelink, or  contact Council on 03 6430 5700 to request a Centrepay deduction form.     

To set up a direct debit from your nominated bank account on the last day of the month (or instalment dates as per your rates notice) please give us a call on 03 6430 5700.
