Council will be opening up its playgrounds and outdoor exercise equipment on Monday 18 May in accordance with the State Government’s Roadmap to Recovery Stage 1 directions.

Council is undertaking a number of protective measures to make sure that when our recreational spaces and facilities open, the safety of the community and council staff is the highest priority.

For playgrounds and exercise equipment, the following rules must be observed:

  • Only 10 people should be together at a time
  • Physical distancing of 1.5 metres and a maximum of one person per 4 square metres should be observed
  • Use appropriate personal hygiene practices - do not touch your face and wash your hands before and after use of equipment
  • If you are unwell, you should Stay at Home, do not use the equipment or visit playgrounds

Council would like to thank everyone for their patience during the closure of our community playgrounds and outdoor exercise equipment.

Our community is to be congratulated on the effort and sacrifices we have all made in containing the spread of COVID-19.
