Council seeks feedback on its proposed new Street Dining By-Law

Submissions are invited on the Council’s new street dining by-law which is proposed to replace the current by-law to manage street dining outside food premises within Burnie.
Council has had a street dining by-law in operation for many years, but because by-laws expire, they must be reviewed and new by-laws made. The proposed by-law is relatively consistent with the previous by-law but there is an opportunity for anyone to make a submission on what has been drafted.
The by-law is important to ensure appropriate safety standards are maintained and that food operators who wish to serve food and beverages to customers on a footpath are approved to work within the by-law rules.
Copies of the proposed by-law and the Regulatory Impact Statement which outlines the impacts and features of the by-law are available on this page until 16 December 2019.
Submissions must be made in writing and addressed to the General Manager (Burnie City Council, PO Box 973, Burnie 7320) or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org (please request a read receipt) no later than COB on Monday 16 December 2019.
