Christmas decorations are up, community groups and clubs are preparing their Christmas parade floats and carolers are fine tuning their voices - Christmas has well and truly arrived in Burnie!

Float registrations are now OPEN for the SeaFM Burnie Christmas Parade which will be held on Friday 13 December 2019 starting at 7pm. Registration forms are available on council’s website and are due this Wednesday 4 December.

Burnie City Council Mayor Steve Kons said “What if there is bad weather on the Friday 13th you ask? In the event of bad weather, the parade will be rescheduled for the following Wednesday 18 December.”

The ABC Christmas Tree is now up in Council’s atrium and we will be collecting gifts until Friday 13 December. The ABC Giving Tree Appeal is Tasmania’s biggest Christmas charity, celebrating over 30 years of generosity from the community. Gifts are donated to disadvantaged and vulnerable people around the state throughout the holiday season. Donate and give joy to Tasmanian families this Christmas.

The Burnie Carols by Candlelight will be on Sunday 22 December. There will be a Precarols Concert at 7pm followed by the traditional Carols by Candlelight program at 8:15pm. The Burnie Carols sales tent will be selling candles, glow-ware, songbooks, snacks and drinks on the evening.

Don’t forget our Christmas Parking, you can Park at the Burnie Marine Terrace multi-storey car park and your first hour of parking is FREE – from 14 to 31 December! Just get your ticket as normal and validate it on the way out. Christmas shopping in the Burnie CBD has never been easier!
