Building Bridges program to support jobseekers

Burnie City Council has welcomed the announcement of $250,000 towards the Building Bridges for Mature Jobseekers program to be run in Burnie until December 2020.
Mayor Steve Kons said “the announcement was a great example of a local community working with the Federal Government to design a program to meet needs.
“There are many mature aged people in our community who struggle to re-enter the workforce for a number of reasons. This program is designed to support these job seekers through intensive support, networking opportunities and a community campaign to highlight the value of mature aged workers to employers.”
“Council looks forward to rolling out the program in the second half of 2019, and throughout 2020.”
