Council provides regulatory permits, services and functions for the community.

Community Event Management Resources

There are a number of possible considerations and permits required depending on your event ... big or small.

Development - Planning, New Uses, Building

Information about changing land use, development planning permit applications, building, plumbing & construction approvals.

Food Businesses

One of the services that Council provides is to maintain a register of food businesses, provide advice, and conduct routine inspections on all food premises in our municipality

Occupying a Council Street for Activity or Work

Would you like to occupy a portion of a public road / street / footpath for an activity or work such as: street stalls, fundraising, performance, maintenance, construction, storing materials/equipment, moving livestock?

Road Closure for Events

The Burnie City Council may grant permission to temporarily close local roads for community events

Water Suppliers and Carriers

Council facilitates the registration of private water suppliers and carriers to ensure that those residents who purchase water from them have access to a safe supply.
