BURNIE PRINT PRIZE
2009
The Burnie Print Prize is an initiative of the Burnie Regional Art Gallery in northwest Tasmania, which, in 2006, opened The Printmakers Gallery dedicated to the display of its growing contemporary print collection. The Burnie Regional Art Gallery is a large and flexible exhibition space with trained staff, secure conditions and a climate-controlled environment in accordance with national standards.
The major prize and additional acquisitions will be announced at the Burnie Print Prize exhibition opening on 26 March 2009, as part of Ten Days on the Island (27 March - 5 April 2009). The Inaugural Burnie Print Prize was part of Ten Days on the Island 2007.

All works selected for exhibition are eligible for purchase by the Gallery.
Burnie Print Prize
$10,000 Acquisitive Award
One work will be selected under this award to enter the Burnie Regional Art Gallery's permanent collection. This acquisitive award is most generously supported by the Friends of the Burnie Regional Art Gallery and the Burnie City Council.

Up to $4000 for the purchase of works to enter the Gallery's permanent collection.
