Exhibition 'No Gloves'

Pam Thorne & Ruth Rees - paper people makers.

Pam and Ruth have been collaborating on papier-mache projects in Burnie for 10 years.

"We were both painters and had worked with children on art projects, which lead to the papier-mache and the endless possibilities of what could be made with it. We settled on people. We wanted to try something big and after we made our first person we were hooked. We built a group of people around the first one. Our inspiration comes from people watching. We capture a moment in time of a realistic situation, showing the group dynamic and body language."

This exhibition will feature existing works as well one of Pam and Ruth’s latest sculpture creations.

Venue: Creative Paper Tasmania, East Mill, Old Surrey Road, Burnie

Time: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday.
