A green waste voucher is issued with your rates notice each year and enables several visits to the waste centre to dispose of green waste for FREE.

Composting

Composting food waste is easy to do and takes little time if you have a system to make it work.

Some basic tips :

• Separate your food waste at source in the kitchen
• Have a separate container under the kitchen sink for food scraps
• Establish a compost bin in the corner of your garden or near the vegie patch
• Feed your compost bin food scraps
• Dig compost into your garden or spread it under mulch
• Place lawn clippings in a heap in the corner of your garden or recycle them using a mulch mower

Worm Farming

Worm farm composting is ideal for people with a small or no backyard.
