The Burnie Musical Society is very excited to be presenting ‘The Boy from Oz’ as our 2018 show. "The Boy From Oz" tells about the life of the great Australian entertainer, Peter Allen.

The show starts in the 1950s with his humble beginnings growing up in a small Australian town. He then experiences a meteoric rise to fame as an international star opening for Judy Garland and sells out shows at Radio City Music Hall.  The show follows his dazzling career and features an amazing array of Peter Allen tunes, including Tenterfield Saddler and I Still Call Australia Home.

We are very excited to be welcoming home Casey White to direct his first Burnie Musical Show. Casey first performed for the Burnie Musical Society in our production of The Sound of Music and has gone on to have successful musical theatre involvements on the mainland.

The Boy from Oz is a major show and we are very excited to have been able to secure the rights to bring this production to the North West Coast.

Music and Lyrics by Peter Allen. Book by Nick Enright.

Original Production by Ben Gannon and Robert Fox by arrangement with David Spicer Productions www.davidspicer.com.au
