The Armed Man : A Mass for Peace Centenary of Armistice Performance

The communities across North West Tasmania have the unique opportunity to experience a moving commemoration on the centenary of the Armistice, performed by over 100 exceptional local and district musicians, who proudly present this major work as a tribute on this noteworthy occasion.

The Armed Man : A Mass for Peace To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day the Cradle Coast Orchestra, Hellyer Community Choir, Don Chorale and the Evandale Village Singers have combined to present “The Armed Man”.

Composed by Welshman Sir Karl Jenkins in 1999, this is an anti-war piece, based on the Catholic Mass. The Armed Man will be performed on Sunday 11th November 2018 at 2 o’clock in the Town Hall of the Burnie Arts and Function Centre, conducted by Robert Bentley, and featuring soloists Alison Saunders (soprano), Leonie Gryta (alto), Benjamin Martin (tenor) and Nick Caddick (bass). Tickets will be available at the venue on the afternoon of the performance. >
