TasWater Traffic Notification - West Mooreville and East Cam Roads

TasWater will shortly commence work on a new pipeline connecting Wynyard, Cam and Somerset to the Burnie water network.

This project will improve water quality and reliability of supply for Wynyard, Cam and Somerset customers, utilising existing spare capacity at the Burnie Water Treatment Plant.

The project is scheduled to commence on Friday 2 March with actual construction starting on Wednesday 7 March and is expected to be completed by July 2018. The contract for this work has been awarded to Jemrok.

Construction will largely occur between the hours of 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday. The pipeline route runs part way along West Mooreville Road (from near 135 West Mooreville Road) and East Cam Road to the intersection of Mawson Road. Works will generally take place in the road reservation within the verge along this route. Any areas which are disturbed during the project will be reinstated.

Residents may experience some construction-related noise intermittently along this section during the works. Short-term access disruptions to properties, if required, will be discussed with property owners/occupants.

Temporary traffic arrangements will reduce traffic to a single lane at times during normal working hours and residents may experience some minor traffic delays as a result of these works, however a single lane of traffic will remain open at all times.

TasWater and Jemrock will be taking steps to minimise the impact of this project on residents, motorists and people attending services at the Burnie Cemetery and nearby crematorium.

This project is part of TasWater’s commitment to investing in new and improved water infrastructure projects across Tasmania.
