Burnie CBD Masterplan

Burnie City Council has released the draft City Centre Masterplan, recently developed by GHD following a community forum and consultation with local businesses and stakeholders.

The Masterplan is about developing a long term vision for the future development of the Burnie CBD. There are a number of global trends influencing the way people shop and interact in city centres. These, along with the UTAS development at West Park, the growth of tourism and the expansion of the Burnie Port all need to be considered in the Masterplan.

Council want to see the CBD Masterplan owned and adopted by businesses and the broader community, so that it not only informs Council and government investment, but also initiates and guides private future development.

All of the CBD Masterplan documents can be downloaded below:

The Masterplan will be tabled for consideration by Council later this year, once recent community feedback has been incorporated.
