Youth Week launches at Festive-Alley

National Youth Week in Tasmania kicks off with the opening event “Festive-Alley” in Burnie this Friday from 3 to 5pm.

Mayor Anita Dow said, “Burnie is proud to host the 2017 opening event for Youth Week in Tasmania. Festive-Alley is designed to bring together youth and youth oriented organisations in a creative and fun way. Our young people will have the opportunity to play, sell their wares or just enjoy the music and atmosphere.”

Featuring a mechanical surf board, photo booth, gladiator jousting and a number of stalls and with pizza being shipped in over the two hour event, the alley will be a great place to be this Friday afternoon for young people around Burnie.

Local hip hop artist ‘Stray’ will be making an appearance and will be following it up with a workshop surrounding everything you might need to know about the Hip Hop industry. If you are a young maker or artist you can also sell your products whether it be jewellery, paper products, upcycled clothing, photo frames etc.

Festive-Alley is a partnership between Burnie City Council’s ‘Youth Making Changes Around Burnie’, and Youth, Family and Community Connections.
