World acclaimed David Helfgott returns to Burnie for solo recital

World renowned pianist David Helfgott is returning to Burnie, performing at the Arts & Function Centre on Tuesday 29 October at 8pm.

David Helfgott is acknowledged as one of the most remarkable musicians of our time. His eagerly anticipated solo recital in Burnie will include popular romantic works from a repertoire of great composers such as Liszt, Beethoven and Bach.

The 1996 film Shine, propelled David Helfgott to worldwide fame. He was portrayed by Geoffrey Rush, who won an Academy Award for his astonishingly accurate performance.

Years on, this extraordinary artist is continuing to receive the worldwide recognition that his remarkable technical and interpretative genius deserves. His recitals transcend mere music-making and are an affirmation of the tenacity of the human spirit and imagination.

David has now toured more than 37 countries to world acclaim, and recently received a 16 minute standing ovation in Vienna.
