World acclaimed Dame Kiri Te Kanawa comes to Burnie

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, world acclaimed opera singer, is set to take the stage at the Burnie Arts & Function Centre on Tuesday 19 March 2013 at 8pm, as part of Tasmania’s International Arts Festival, Ten Days on the Island.

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa is one of the most acclaimed opera singers of all time. Her voice, versatility and personality have captivated audiences in leading concert halls around the world including the Metropolitan in New York, La Scala, Covent Garden and Chicago Lyric Opera, and now Burnie!

Decorated by the Queen for her services to music in 1982, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa’s international career spans 40 years and her voice is as remarkable as ever.

Accompanied by her pianist, Terrence Dennis, she will perform a rich program of classic and contemporary highlights from her famed repertoire.”
