Up Close and BIG returns with Alison Watkins

BIG is excited to welcome Alison Watkins, Group Managing Director of Coca Cola Amatil, as guest speaker at the first Up Close and BIG event for 2019.

BIG Chair Mark Smith said “we are privileged to have someone of Alison Watkin’s experience and calibre in the Australian business world here in Burnie. She has a strong career in business management and the food and beverage sector and it will be fascinating to get some of her insights into trends across the national and international beverages market place. Alison is a Tasmanian having grown up on a farm in the midlands and is a Commerce graduate of the University of Tasmania. Prior to Coca Cola Amatil she has worked for management consultants McKinsey and Co, ANZ, Berri Fruit Juices and Grain Corp before joining CCA in 2014.”

BIG is an industry and education group formed by representatives in the community which aims to build the aspirations of Burnie citizens of all ages with a particular focus on young people as the future leaders and owners of our community.

Burnie City Council Mayor Steve Kons said “BIG events aim to stir the untapped potential of our youth, and demonstrate how, with hard work and dedication, dreams can become a reality. We are extremely fortunate to continually get these high calibre speakers to engage and inspire us.”

Up Close and BIG with Alison Watkins will be a lunch session at Parklands High School on Thursday 21 March from 1.15pm.
