The race is on – entries close this Friday

At some point we have all wished we could take part in the reality television series The Amazing Race. Here is your chance.

Burnie’s Great Race will be held Saturday 2 April 2011 starting at the Marine Parade Plaza next to the Multi Storey car park at 11am.

Burnie City Council’s Youth Development Officer Mel Taylor said, “It’s a big treasure hunt where you have to collect clues and race around the City for your chance to win some terrific prizes.

“The great news is that it’s free to enter and is open to young and old. We would love to see the whole family come along and work together in solving the challenges throughout the day. You can enter as an individual or as a team.”

Each entrant will receive a goody bag, course map, clues and water. There will also be a free BBQ.
Burnie’s Great Race is part of the National Youth Week 2011 celebrations.

“The day is about celebrating our beautiful City, having fun and creating an event that both the youth and adults can enjoy and afford,” she said.

Registrations close for this free event this Friday 25 March 2011. Entry forms are available at the Burnie City Council offices at 80 Wilson Street Burnie or online.
