Slipstream Circus set to perform brand new show in Burnie

Slipstream Circus will unveil their brand new performance, Sleepless at the Burnie Arts & Function Centre on Friday 25 October and Saturday 26 October at 7.30pm.

Join some of Tasmania’s best circus performers from the Slipstream Circus performance troupe, for a fun, family show full of acts of human dexterity beyond your wildest dreams!

Deputy Mayor Sandra French said, “The talent of this group is outstanding. This new performance has been commissioned by the Burnie Arts & Function Centre to be a part of the subscription season. This performance provides another valuable addition to the Burnie Shines program for 2013.”

Slipstream Circus is a community based youth circus founded in Ulverstone. Slipstream Circus provides opportunities for young people, encourages and promotes a positive image of young people in the community. They encourage all their members’ ideas, thoughts and creativity, in turn making them realise they are valuable members of the community and their contribution to society is important to all.

Burnie Arts & Function Centre Director, Geoff Dobson said, “We are thrilled to be working with Slipstream Circus to create an exciting new show. Sleepless is guaranteed to amaze all.”

This event is supported by the arts UNEARTHED program. The arts UNEARTHED program, in partnership with MMG is a program that provides access to quality arts experiences for the community through audience development activities, workshops and opportunities to exhibit and perform.
