Round One grant winners announced

Successful community clubs, organisations and individuals are celebrating with the announcement of the successful applicants for Burnie City Council’s 2011/2012 Financial Assistance Grants program.

Applications for Round One of the program closed in April.

The grants program is open to all not-for-profit organisations that plan to hold community projects in the Burnie Municipality to occur during the 2011/2012 financial year.

Burnie City Council’s Community Development Officer Allison Daley said, “The Financial Assistance Grants program aims to support community clubs and organisations to initiate or establish programs, projects and activities on a fair and equitable basis.

“It was wonderful to see so many terrific groups and individuals trying to establish and maintain a service to the community. We had a large variety of applications and we are so pleased to see people taking advantage of this program for the better of the community.”

The successful clubs, organisations and individuals that have been awarded a grant in the Burnie City Council’s Financial Assistance Grants program (Round One) are:

  • Ridgley Sports Club - $5126
  • Zodiacs Gymnastic Club - $3890
  • Burnie Amateur Swimming Club - $2500
  • Acton Cricket Club - $1030
  • Natone Football Club - $6918
  • Tasmanian Classical Ballet - $1000
  • Scripture Union Tasmania - $1243
  • Burnie Community Care - $3000
  • Ridgley Community Centre - $1821
  • Upper Natone Reserve Committee - $3000
  • Cooee to Camdale Coastcare - $1420
  • Friends of Burnie Penguins - $1400
  • Oakleigh Accommodation Service - $2500  

A club or community organisation may only apply for Financial Assistance once per year. For example if you were successful in your application for Financial Assistance in Round One then you will not eligible to apply for Financial Assistance in Round Two.
