Pioneer Village Museum celebrates Seniors Week

Seniors Week will be celebrated from 1 October to 7 October.

Pioneer Village Museum Curator Georgia Luck said, “To celebrate Seniors Week we are offering a discounted $2 entry fee into the Museum to all seniors during Seniors Week.

“Seniors Week is a great reason to come and visit the museum, particularly if you haven’t visited in awhile.

“Our brand new exhibition, Branching Out: Burnie's Family Tree will be on display. This temporary exhibition features the family history of many families in Burnie and the exhibition will close at the end of October.

“In the back gallery of the Museum you can explore the very interesting War Zone I & II Exhibition or browse our gift shop for Tasmanian history books, educational gifts for children and beautiful vintage and antique-inspired gifts,” she said.

A special Seniors Week morning tea will be held by the Association of Independent Retirees at the Museum on Friday 7 October at 10am.

“After the morning tea, a special performance of the play Growing up in Emu Bay by Richard Davey will be performed in our charming c1900 Federation streetscape in the Muesum,” Miss Luck said.

The Pioneer Village Museum is open Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm. All are welcome to attend the morning tea with a performance. Bookings are not required. Phone 6430 5746 or email for more information.
