Paper Clothing Competition Workshops

Would you like to enter Burnie City Council’s Paper Clothing Competition but don’t know where to start? Well, help is available.

In the lead-up to the competition, Mary-Anne Pearce from TasTAFE will be holding paper clothing workshops for those people who need a little helping hand.

The workshops will be held at Block C, TasTAFE Mooreville Road, Burnie on:

  • Thursday 2 July from 5.30pm – 8.30pm
  • Tuesday 7 July from 1.00pm – 4.00pm
  • Wednesday 15 July from 10.00am – 1:00pm

Some paper products will be supplied at these workshops, such as reams of paper and newspaper, however if you would like to create your paper garment with specific products, you will need to bring these along with you. Mannequins are also not supplied.

Burnie Mayor Anita Dow said, “These workshops are ideal for people who want to enter the Paper Clothing Competition, but either don’t know where to start or don’t know how to get their idea on to a mannequin.”

Places are limited so to register for the workshops, or for more information about the Paper Clothing Competition, please visit or contact Katie Smith on 6430 5774 or

All paper clothing entries must be accompanied with registration forms and a photo of the entry. Entries must be dropped off at the Burnie Regional Art Gallery between Monday 20 July and Friday 24 July 2015.
