New toilet facilities for Cooee

Cooee now has brand new public toilet facilities.

The finishing details were completed earlier this week by Stubbs Constructions.

Mayor Alvwyn Boyd said, “Cooee didn’t have access to any public toilets before, so the new amenities will be very well accepted by the community, particularly in the warmer months of the year.”

The new facilities were incorporated into the Coastal Pathway Project.

“The toilets are linked to complement the Coastal Pathway. It’s in an ideal location for people who are out being active or enjoying the beach,” he said.

The new facilities include both male and female toilets, a designated accessible toilet and baby change facilities.

The toilets also have beach showers installed externally on the new building.

“Let’s hope we still have some warm weather on the way to give community members who enjoy visiting Cooee Beach the opportunity to utilize the beach showers,” Mayor Boyd said.

“The development of a public toilet facility at Cooee has been a project of interest for Council for a number of years. It’s great to be able to provide these needed amenities to the community,” he said.

The public toilets complete the final stage of the Coastal Pathway Project that received funding from both State Government and the Australian Government.
