Heads of agreement released

Burnie City Council has welcomed the release of the Heads of Agreement between Council and the University of Tasmania, which covers a proposed $8 million project at West Park.

Mayor Steve Kons said, “It is important we are open with the community and that everyone has access to read the agreement in full.

“The document steps out the basis of the agreement between Council and the University to develop an educational precinct at West Park, which incorporates the city's iconic Makers’ Workshop.”

Under the revised Heads of Agreement, ownership of the Makers’ Workshop will be retained by Council, with a long-term lease offering UTAS the security to develop the site with confidence.

The Heads of Agreement is available for viewing from www.cradle-coast.utas.edu.au or can be downloaded.
