HA! High Art Summer Show

The HA! High Art Summer Show 2017–18 will be opened at the Burnie Regional Art Gallery on Thursday, 7 December at 6pm by Alison Thomas, Artist and Teacher of Visual Art, Burnie High School.

HA! High Art Summer Show is the season finale of the Ha! High Art series of exhibitions, where ten high schools and colleges in Burnie and surrounding towns, take turns in showcasing works by their most talented students throughout the year.

“The brainchild of former Gallery Director, Greg Leong, HA! High Art Summer Show is now in its ninth season. This series of exhibitions has helped to create a strong relationship between the participating schools and the gallery” said Acting Gallery Director, Randolph Wylie.

“The High Art exhibitions have, since the summer of 2008-09, created an awareness of the gallery amongst students and their families that otherwise may not have considered a visit to the gallery.

“The High Art exhibitions are a fantastic testament to the very skilled and dedicated art teachers we have on the north west coast.

“As the HA! Summer Show is on display during the peak tourism season, we receive a lot of positive feedback from local, interstate and overseas visitors, who all appreciate the value of exhibiting works by talented young people.”

The following schools are exhibiting in the 2017-18 HA! Summer Show: Burnie High School, Hellyer College, Leighland Christian School, Marist Regional College, Parklands High School, Penguin High School, Smithton High School, Ulverstone High School and Wynyard High School.
