Fun day for the family to get active

Dust off your bike, grab your sneakers and get your family ready to participate in the Burnie City Council annual Family Walk and Ride Day on Sunday, 30 November 2014.

Start your walk or ride at 11am from either Cooee in the west or the Yacht Club in the east to meet up at the Waterfront (East side of Surf Club) for some fun activities.

Mayor Anita Dow said, “The weather is starting to warm up and the Family Walk and Ride Day always provides families an excuse to get together and enjoy some light exercise along our beautiful coastal pathways.

“By joining us at either end of the pathway at Cooee or the yacht club, you receive tickets for some great prizes. It isn’t about being the fastest, it is just a great opportunity to spend some time with your family and promoting the importance of having a healthy and active lifestyle.”

Celebrate with us on the waterfront with food, a jumping castle and some great prizes.

Prizes include an Apollo Evolution (hydraulic disk brakes and alloy frame), stunt bike and a Sonar BMX 20" bike from Leicester Cycles, one half season tickets to the Burnie Aquatic Centre and two child multi swim voucher (10 swims) and two one hour massages from Coastal Physiotherapy.

This is a free entry event. The jumping castle is also free to enjoy. A Make a Wish charity fundraising BBQ will be at the Waterfront.
