Erth's Dinosaur Zoo

Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with a dinosaur? Well now is your chance, when Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo pays a visit to the Burnie Arts & Function Centre on Tuesday 25 August at 11am and 6pm.

Erth are recognised as an innovator of physical and visual theatre both nationally and internationally, creating a menagerie of large-scale puppets. Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo is a cutting edge production which fuses together extraordinary artistry with captivating scientific facts, all the while bringing a collection of dinosaurs to life in front of your eyes.

The audience can get up close to pat and feed the dinosaurs and learn more about their behaviours and habits. The world’s largest known flying insect, the Meganuera monyi, will even be there!

Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo is suitable for primary school students. Student group bookings are available for the 11am performance. There is also a resource kit for teachers.

Children can also participate in the puppet making workshop on Tuesday 25 August at 2pm where they will learn how to make and operate their own puppet. The workshop is suitable for children aged between 5 and 12 years of age, and bookings are essential. Cost for the workshop is $15.00.

The workshop is supported by the arts UNEARTHED program, which in partnership with MMG, provides access to quality arts experiences for the community through audience development activities, workshops and opportunities to exhibit and perform.
