Council to host State Cabinet Meeting

Burnie City Council will be extending a warm welcome to the Premier and his Cabinet when it hosts a State Cabinet meeting on Tuesday 1 August 2017.

Burnie City Council Mayor Anita Dow said, “It is great to have the opportunity to welcome the Premier and his Cabinet to Burnie and to present the ongoing needs of our city and the region.”

“It is very important for Government to engage with and understand the needs of our community, and at this meeting we will be able to provide a comprehensive outline of the future aspirations for our city.”

“Council will present a number of funding partnership and collaboration opportunities to the State Government, including projects that we believe will provide significant community benefits.  Some of these include the Emu River Flood Study, the Coastal Pathway Project, Montello Soccer Grounds upgrade, Burnie Magistrate and Supreme Court redevelopment and the Australian Sustainable Hardware Timber Mill proposal.”
