Contractor announced for Burnie Tennis Club upgrade

Burnie City Council has awarded RT & NJ Construction Services Pty Ltd the tender for the construction of the Burnie Tennis Club court upgrade.

Burnie City Council Mayor Anita Dow said, “With the announcement of the successful tenderer, RT & NJ Construction Services Pty Ltd, work can now begin on this long awaited project and the community can expect to see activity at the site within days.”

“As part of the upgrade, all fifteen courts will be re-surfaced, including a synthetic grass surface on four courts. Court lighting will be upgraded for the show court with two new light poles and lights installed and new lights on the existing poles for the synthetic grass courts will be installed. A new fencing system will be installed, along with a new surface drainage system.”

“Works are expected to start immediately to ensure that the project is completed in time for next year’s Burnie Challenger Event.”

“This upgrade will not only result in the return of the Burnie Challenger Event, it will also enable the Burnie Tennis Club to further support junior development and the growing use of the complex by the community.”
