Community urged to park in correct areas at Wivenhoe

Wivenhoe has become a hive of activity.

Mayor Steve Kons said, “It’s wonderful to see how far the Wivenhoe area has changed and grown, particularly the business area.

“Council would like to remind the community that parking restrictions apply in some on-street areas in the Wivenhoe local business area.

“Time limits apply for parking spaces outside some businesses along Main Road Wivenhoe. However, there are also many unrestricted parking spaces in the same locality.

“The community has a choice. For a quick visit to a business premises, parking spaces with the 15 minute limit may be more convenient. Unrestricted spaces are the obvious choice for those who need to stay longer.”
The penalty for overstaying the time limit in a restricted area is $50.

“There is plenty of parking available without the time restrictions, so I urge the community to be more aware when parking in the area. This will ensure the short-term parking spaces remain available for those people who want to pop in for a quick purchase and will avoid risk of a fine for those who need to stay longer,” Mayor Kons said.
