Car wash for a cause

The children from Milpara Outside School Hours Care Centre are holding four car washes for charity.

Deputy Mayor Sandra French said, “The children have recently been introduced to the world of philanthropy. Together they decided they would like to dedicate their time to a worthy charity.

“They researched many charities and held a vote on which cause they would fundraise for and how they would achieve donations.”

The parents, students and staff of Milpara Outside School Hours Care Centre will hold four car washes from Monday April 2 until Thursday April 5. The car wash starts each day at 3pm and runs until 6pm. It is only $5 per vehicle and the money will be donated to The Kids’ Cancer Project.

“If you would like your car washed before the Easter break and at the same time support a worthy cause, we would encourage you to come along on one of these afternoons to the Milpara Outside School Hours Care Centre, located at the Burnie Primary School in Van Diemen’s Crescent in Burnie,” Ald French said.

The Kids’ Cancer Project is an Australian charity focused on finding cures for childhood cancer. Their aim is to fund research programs dedicated to finding cures for childhood cancer.
