Calling all young makers and creators

Burnie City Council’s Youth Makers Market is on again and we are on the look-out for young creative people to share their talents and sell their wares.

As part of National Youth Week celebrations, the You Can Make It Youth Makers Market will showcase the talents of Burnie’s young makers and creators. The market will be held in the Marine Terrace Plaza on Saturday 18 April from 11.00am until 3.00pm.

Mayor Anita Dow said “There are a lot of creative young people in our City so we wanted to be able to provide them with the opportunity to showcase their talents to a wider audience. The Youth Makers Market is a great platform for them to do this.

“Similar to last year’s market, Marine Terrace Plaza will be transformed with stalls, so they will be able to set out their wares for all to see and hopefully make a few sales. Any money stallholders make on the day is theirs to keep, which is a bonus, and there are also some also great prizes up for grabs.

Youth makers aged between 12 and 25 years are encouraged to register their interest now as there are limited spaces available. People can register online at Registrations close Wednesday 15 April 2015.
