Burnie waterfront seating opportunity

Burnie City Council are currently inviting eligible businesses to express their interest in having the opportunity to have their company name placed on one of Council’s new locally made waterfront seats, as a way of recognising the significant contribution that the “Makers of Burnie” continue to make in Burnie.

Burnie Mayor Alvwyn Boyd said, “The waterfront upgrade is coming along very well. We are now calling for businesses to express their interest in securing a permanent place down at the new waterfront area showcasing their business name.”

There are 12 seats available, at a total cost of $1,500 per seat.

“There are certain criteria that the businesses must meet to be eligible, however this really is a unique opportunity. We are looking for businesses that have had an impact in shaping the new Burnie.

“We have seen a lot of positive changes recently in our city and by placing business names that have contributed to Burnie on the seats at the new waterfront area really celebrates the changes we have made as a city and the exciting future we have ahead.

“Once complete, the waterfront will be a great place for the community to enjoy our clean beaches and new walking paths. This area will be a great spot for families to enjoy.” he said.

All eligible Expressions of Interest will go into a draw to have their company name placed on a waterfront seat.
Interested businesses have until 4:00pm Friday, 5 August 2011 to complete the EOI documentation. Eligibility criteria and documents can be found online or by telephoning (03) 6430 5750.

Enquiries should be directed to Mr Gary Neil, Director Works and Services on (03) 6430 5760 or gneil@burnie.net
