Burnie to establish Men’s Shed Working Group
The Burnie City Council are seeking expressions of interest from members of the community who would be interested in joining a working group to establish a Men’s Shed in Burnie.
Burnie City Council Mayor Anita Dow said, “Men’s Sheds have proven to be very popular in other communities, and Council feels that there is a need for this type of service in Burnie and not just for older men, men of all ages can benefit from coming along to a Men’s Shed and getting involved.”
“Men’s Sheds offer a relaxed but active place where men can get involved in team projects while being a part of a supportive network. They also act as a conduit to providing health information in an informal and non-threatening way. They have also demonstrated that they play a key role for men transitioning from work to retirement.”
If you would like to be part of the working group, please contact Allison Daley on 64305 706 or email email@example.com by 5pm Friday 24 March 2017.
