A show for everyone who loves Bunnings!

Comedian Harley Breen is bringing his highly anticipated comedy show, I heart Bunnings, to the Burnie Arts & Function Centre on Friday 12 July 2013 at 8pm.

Deputy Mayor Sandra French said, “The title of the show is very timely for Burnie. Harley Breen is a touring standup comedy performer gaining outstanding reviews. He is set to present a comedy act that breaks away from traditional stereotypes, with the aim to leave the Burnie audience begging for more.”

Bunnings is the ultimate man-shed. Two acres of timber, tools and trellises, guaranteed to make any man swoon. Harley Breen has two brothers. They're both carpenters. He likes going to Bunnings to look at things he could make if they were around to fix them.

Perhaps this is Bunnings’ great, dark secret: no one shopping there knows what they’re doing! It is the perfect place to wander around and feel like you’ve got the skills and materials to nail your world together. I Heart Bunnings is a show built for anyone renovating a life.

Breen is easily amongst the most naturally talented standup comedy performers working in Australia at the moment. His relatable, high energy comic storytelling and winning charisma have effortlessly charmed audiences all over Australia and the world. He was awarded the 2010 “Piece of Wood” Comic’s Choice Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, 2010 Spleen Comic of the Year Award and the 2007 Tron Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Burnie Arts & Function Centre Director, Geoff Dobson said, “Breen presents high quality standup, which actually undersells its subtlety. His sharply observed insights turn into common emotion and carry his audiences merrily past his initial clichéd brawn towards a hilarious, shared recognition. He is a diverse and deceptively thoughtful comedian.”

Warning: I heart Bunnings may contain offensive language and adult themes. Recommended for people aged 15 years or older.
