Congratulations to everyone who was involved in the running of a very successful 16th Australian Masters Games during the past week.

What a terrific week for all competitors from across the country with the marvellous weather showcasing Burnie and the North West Coast. Over 50 sports were played across the week and throughout the region, wrapping up with Burnie hosting the after-party with Skyfields at West Park on Saturday evening.

BURNIE Shines is now winding down after another successful month highlighting the variety of talent from across the area. There is still time to visit the Burnie Regional Art Gallery to view the 2017 Burnie Shines Featured Artists’ Exhibition which is running through to 6 November 2017. The Burnie Musical Society’s production of 9 to 5 is also showing through to 4 November 2017. For more information and to purchase your tickets, visit www.burnieshines.com

WITH the good weather Spring has brought, we have seen an increase in the requirement for grass management. Council Officers have been busy mowing areas to keep them tidy. All reserves have been scheduled for mowing. Council’s maintenance schedule can be viewed online at www.burnie.net
