Mayor Anita Dow

ON Saturday night Council said a big thank you to all of its volunteers at a Volunteer Thank You Dinner at the Burnie Arts & Function Centre. Council currently has approximately 160 volunteers on our register, and this dinner was a way to formally acknowledge and thank them for all the great work that they do to at our facilities and events.

Volunteers fulfil a very important role in the community and each of them does so for his or her own reasons. However, there is no doubt that their contribution and commitment is critical to the wellbeing of so many organisations, including Burnie City Council.

Our volunteers work across a number of areas including the Burnie Regional Art Gallery, the Burnie Regional Museum, Burnie Visitor Information Centre, the Burnie Ten, the Burnie Challenge, 321 Go and welcoming the cruise ship passengers.
