COUNCIL is delighted that the next instalment of the very popular Skyfields music events will be held at West Park, Burnie on Saturday 28 October. This event, which features much loved Aussie band the Hoodoo Gurus, will also serve as the after party for the Australian Masters Games which are being held along the North West Coast from 21 to 28 October.

This is an all ages event, and tickets prices are $69.00 for the general public and $59.00 for Games athletes. This will be a great event for the whole community so we want to see as many people as possible come along and join in the party.

Gates will open at 4.30pm and performances will start at 5pm and continue on until 11pm, with bands such as The Ringmasters and Agent 99, as well as other local talent, entertaining the crowds. There will plenty of local food and wine available, so it will be the perfect night out.

Tickets are now on sale at www.skyfields.com.au  or from Fosters Music here in Burnie.

LAST week I attended the Burnie Eisteddfod. It was great to see so many people and families converging in Burnie to perform in this long held Burnie tradition. Congratulations to all participants and thank you to all of the volunteers involved in putting together the program and organising this highly valued month long cultural event in the city.

DID you know that you can recycle your flat household batteries? Instead of binning them, why not bring them into Council’s City Offices and drop them off in our free recycling bins and do your bit to protect the environment. We also have recycling bins for used Nespresso coffee pods, as well as your old mobile phones!
