TODAY we welcome the cruise ship Norwegian Jewel to Burnie. This is the vessel’s maiden visit and it will be returning for another four visits over the cruise season. The Norwegian Jewel will be the largest cruise ship to berth at Burnie, made possible due to TasPort’s new mooring dolphin infrastructure. It is great to see new cruise companies choosing to dock in Burnie, providing their passengers the opportunity to experience all that Burnie and the surrounding areas have to offer.

COUNCIL will this week be undertaking the Kerbside Hard Waste Collection in Burnie and Ridgley urban areas. Registrations are now closed, but if you are registered and have any questions relating to requirements that must be met, please visit http://www.burnie.net/News/Notice-Board.

THE launch of the 2018 Performing Arts Subscription Season will be held on Thursday, 30 November 2017 from 6.00pm at the Burnie Arts and Function Centre. This is a free event showcasing a taster of the upcoming season’s calendar, so come along for the big reveal featuring live performances by special guests.

REGISTRATIONS are now open for the 2017 Sea FM Burnie Christmas Parade. This year’s Parade will be held on Friday, 8 December 2017 from 7.00pm. To be involved in the parade, register your entry by Wednesday, 6 December 2017 with the form available at www.burnie.net or from the City Offices.

TIME is running out to nominate for the 2018 Australia Day Awards. If you know someone who deserves to be recognised for the contributions they make to our City, then please take the time to nominate them. Forms can be found at www.burnie.net or from the City Offices in Wilson Street, Burnie.
