Skin Penetration Activities

Council has a role in ensuring that high risk public health activities are licensed and managed appropriately.

Skin penetration procedures may increase the risk of transmitting disease-causing organisms such as HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and skin infections by common bacteria if not performed according to the guidelines.

Council undertakes regular checks to ensure that these types of premises within the city are licensed under the Public Health Act 1997 and are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.

It is recommended you speak with an Environmental Health Officer on 6430 5700 prior to submitting your application for a licence.
