Senior Technical Officer

Councils Technical Services team is currently recruiting for an engineering position critical to the delivery of a $10M capital works and major maintenance program and to support Waste Management services for the Burnie community.

Qualifications and Experience

The Senior Technical Officer should hold a TAFE Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering (2 year qualification or equivalent) and have a minimum of 7 years’ experience. 

Outstanding university Civil Engineering degree graduates with a self-starter and flexible approach will also be considered.

If you also have a passion for waste and recycling management and can adapt quickly to administrative tasks, you will be in your element.

The Role

The role is integral to the wider Works & Services Department.  You will apply your design, drafting and project management skills to deliver projects and undertake investigations, asset inspections and reporting.

As a Waste Management champion you will collect and analyse data, implement and manage programs and support strategy development and educational activities. 

Administrative tasks include internal and external reporting, and the establishment and maintenance of annual budget processes.  The incumbent will liaise with key stakeholders and manage role related customer enquiries.
