MULTI STOREY CAR PARK
Did you know that the newly extended multi storey car park is currently open until midnight every night?

Monday to Saturday inclusive 7.30am until midnight; and Sunday 10.00am until midnight.

It costs just $2.00 to park after 6.30pm Monday to Saturday and all day on Sunday. 653 spaces available.

Burnie Shines 2008 - Call for Events - BE PART OF IT!

Burnie Shines celebrations will be held from 1st to 31st October 2008.
This is an invitation for your event to be part of it.

Portside Heritage Listing

The Tasmanian Heritage Council is proposing the following place be permanently entered on the Tasmanian Heritage Register on the basis of the information and analysis presented below. Objections or submissions can be made in writing to Heritage Tasmania, 103 Macquarie Street, Hobart 7000 by 25 May 2008.

 'Portside' and the Van Diemen's Land Company Cemetery

Council is supportive of this process and encourages its residents to submit their comments to Heritage Tasmania.

Council has commissioned a report from a Heritage Architect, David Denmen and based on his advice will be objecting to the listing of the Portside building.

Latest News on Water and Sewerage Reform

Media Release - Water and Sewerage Reform to Cost the Community Dearly
The Council meeting held on 11 December received a further update on the State Government's proposed Water & Sewerage Reform, including the report on a Regional Study of the Cradle Coast Council's prepared by consultants GHD. Read more on the Keep Burnie Water website.

The Burnie City Council has recently completed a public notification period on the Burnie Settlement and Investment Strategy.  Although the initial period for representations has closed, the Council is still interested in your response, and will continue to receive written comment.
